Project Title: LASLO/SYNNE

The creator of THE LOST SORCERESS is back! And I intend to make my newest project the biggest and best adventure game yet!

LASLO/SYNNE brings you into the world of Ameron, created entirely from the imagination of young artists Laslo and Synne. When Ameron's most dangerous sorcerer, Skaron, breaks his way into our world, he kidnaps Synne and begins to control her mind, and thus transform Ameron into a dark and terrifying place.

Only Laslo, with the power to change Ameron however he wants, is strong enough to stop the malicious Skaron and save Synne. And so the battle begins!

EVERYTHING that drives and moves me will be part of LASLO/SYNNE. You will witness every stage of it's development, from concept to reality. As it is now, the game is simply an idea, but I truly believe it will thrive into a vast entity and I will do everything in my power to bring this entity to life!

More general info and some good news! LASLO/SYNNE shall mark the debut of Mr. Benjamin Larham as composer! Yes, the game will feature an original score of his very own, wonderous creation. As music goes, you are in for a treat when LASLO/SYNNE arrives!

As story goes, the game begins as Laslo wakes up in Ameron, having suffered severe amnesia. Synne, or a shard of her soul at least, is the first person he meets and remembers. Synne will help him (you) get his memory back if you help her find the two missing parts of her soul.

From here, new places will open up to you in Ameron depending on what Laslo remembers, each memory connected to what actions you take and decisions you make. Put simply, the game writes itself around how you play. Your journey is unique, and no two are ever the same.

Sadly, this'll be my last update for around 3-4 weeks as I'll be down south for a while. Hopefully when I get back I'll stick up some new screenshots and concept art, which are largely absent right now.

Enjoy your holidays! LK

Re-united with a working computer and internet connection, I return to active work! After weeks of expansive conceptual work, I've got what I feel is the strongest structure for the game mapped out.

The game's "inventory" comes in the shape of Mirrors. Each Mirror transforms Laslo into a unique form. Laslo's weapons and abilities are determined by what form he takes, and how you interact with NPC's will depend upon your form.

"Laslo-Hawk" is one of the first Mirrors you find, and can turn Laslo into an anthropomorphic bird. His attack, the Wing Slash, can put out fires and clear sand and dust. He can also hover jump with his wings, ride gusts across chasms and carry objects in his talons. ...But he can't swim as a hawk.

More forms, Mirrors and their unique features will emerge throughout the game, and naturally, the world of Ameron will take shape around these features. Whether Laslo-Hawk is one of just a few Mirrors or one of hundreds will depend on where development leads. For now, I'll be messing with what possibilities stem from just this Mirror.

My computer BROKE the other day and I haven't had chance to fix it yet. =( So not done much game making lately... This update comes from my Wii and I'll share a few facts about the game to entertain you 'til I get sorted again! =D

1. The structure is similar to Super Mario 64's star-collecting. You gather lanterns (the japanese kind) dotted across Ameron to unlock new areas.

2. There's no world map or Hyrule Field style setup to link the places together. The places are linked in Donkey Kong Country style, but in a non-linear way.

3. LASLO/SYNNE is an action RPG like Zelda, (despite all these platform game influences) so no random battles and stat building, but still lots of customisable stuff!

Anymore little details that spring forth will be up every now and again. In closing, typing with the Wiimote sucks. LK

Thought I'd stick a screenshot up of the 'testing' stage. Am currently messing around with events and NPC choreography just to see where I want to go with things.

I don't think I'll be working on presentation until I get the core events and systems sorted out.

Oh, and if anyone knows of a good ALL KEYBOARD KEYS SCRIPT, I'll be very thankful if you inform me. I found one that worked years ago and have lost it, so if you could halp me, many thanks!! LK

All of Ameron's background details have been mapping out in my head this week. I now know how the story will begin and develop through the first third of the game at least. It's a complex plot, but a fun one to try and comprehend!

Though I'd love to, I lack the capacity to sum up these details right now. They give shape to the entire game, so I WILL divuldge the info in the next few days. Hopefully in a 'not totally confusing' manner. LK
