Progress: |||||||||| (10%) Project Title: Valius - The Wrath Of Liberty
A sinister race of soldiers known only as the Vanguard are terrorising the people of Valius by destroying thier villages and seizing control of thier capital cities. For reasons unknown, the Vanguard carry out these actions from the Citadel located in Styra, the domicile of all Vanguard. The fight for freedom and the end of the Vanguard race is bought to you when the peacefull village you reside in is burnt to the ground and many of your family and friends are killed. Seeking your revenge leads you to find that stopping the Vanguard is only the beginning.
Below is the world map of Valius with the twelve different countries you have the option of visiting. If you have trouble prenouncing any of the names then IM me and I'll help you out.
Project Updates
Updated on 13 May 2009
Im currently working on the monster design and as some of you may or may not noticed that I have decided to do the monsters myself rather than easily just collecting a few presets on the net somewhere. I decided there was more sense of achievement in this process although it will take longer, I will feel better knowing more of my work is in the game than RTP resources.
The screen shot is of one monster and its evolutionary form. I have not yet decided what to call it but I have list of the monster names that should fit.
I will probably post one or two more monster designs as I progress in the project to promote interest but thats all really.

I have had to edit the story yet again as some of it won't make sense to those who play it if they haven't read any of my previous work so it's going to be one long game.
Also, I've finished the charsets for the main characters which I will upload soon.
I am also working on a guide for the game as I go along as I reckon alot of you are gonna miss most of the interesting stuff in the game if you just race to the end so I am putting in a guide on the download so those who really want to get the best out of the game can do.

It's been awhile since the last update and it will probably be alot longer for the next one as my computer harddrive has now died on me *sob* he was old and if you didnt guess ive lost some more files again.
For awhile I am just going to be designing the resources for Wrath of Liberty untill I get a new hard drive then it will be put together for a finished project.
SCREENSHOTS
I've uploaded the screenshots in the main description seeing as the screenshot uploaded doesnt work right now. This had two advantages, The pictures are thier original size so no scaling down and I can remove the pictures when ever I feel like it by deleting them off the game description.
If you read the update before this one it will tell you a short description of the screens.

Screenshots
At the moment I am currently working on the side quests and designing the towns. The first screenshot is of a town you visit quite early in the game called Westerwind. It's a pretty average town with quite a high population.
I've also uploaded the world map which is now complete. Originally the world map was 500 x 500 the maxium the screen would go but I downsized the map this time as it was too much work and risk of losing again as I did on my first project. The map is now 100 x 150 still quite big but not insanely big as before. There is however a drawback to sizing down the map, the distance between towns has shortened so it is fairly easy to avoid battles on the world map but I don't see that as a huge problem as most RPG's I have played annoy me with too many battles popping up on the world map when I just want to get from A to B.
The other two screenshots are of several people walking around the town of Westerwind and interacting with each other. I designed all the characters in the screenshot.

This basically the continuation of my first project which I lost all the files on so I started again and edited the story and gave it a full title "The Wrath Of Liberty"
At the moment there are no screen shots I can provide as it is all data on paper.
I can tell you that there are
01. Over 100 Unique monsters
02 .Just under 200 items.
03. Armor sets to collect with special abilities
04. Lots of side quests
05. 2 minigames, Labyrinth & Dungeon Master
06. Hidden Characters
07. Tough Bosses
08. Vast storyline.
What I have done is gutt out most of the RTP files and replaced or modded them. This allowed me to have even more control over the design of the game. It's taken some time to get it all on paper but now its time to fill in the art!

About the screens. I just had a similar problem so I updated all my screens to photobucket. I think it's because of an internal error on the site.
Thanks for the suggestion and as you can see, it's all done now!
The maps look pretty damn awesome. Srsly, I need to learn how to do that.
Your mapping skills have to be up there with the best. Someone should do a poll or something of the top ten mappers on UI. You'd be there! Great looking game too.
Thanks, thats made my day! I took me so long complete seeing as I was constantly adjusting everything. If I new most of the games on UI then I would make a topic Top Ten RPG Maker World Maps.
lol. But srsly, tey are teh best I've seen here. That would take a lot of tiime to make. Or would it?
It takes as much time as you will give it. The more time you put it to it the more detailed it would look as I mentioned in the description all I used to make the world map was MS Paint and a picnic photo editer to blur it slightly thats all. Why don't you give it a go and post it up on the forums?
Yeah, the game so far seems to be really well-planned. Admirable, indeed.
Let's see how the product of this unfolds, right?
This game definitely looks like it could be on the level of my Carlsev games in terms of scope and ambition. Your mapping is quite good for a beginner; it reminds me a bit of Carlsev's first maps, what with the Mac and Blue and layout and all.
I am delighted to see that you really know what you are doing game-development-wise. You know how to work on it, and that's good.
