Project Title: Legend of Rhye
Legend of Rhye is a semi-comedy game that tries to parody as many progressive rock groups and RPG cliches as possible. It takes itself fairly seriously for a comedy game, which is the whole point. It's a project born out of REDDAP's old Legend of Tharmia concept.
Long ago, the White Queen and her servants sailed the Seven Seas of Rhye. They landed on the shores of a continent once deemed the Land of Confusion. That day, she founded a new nation: Rhydia.
But why did she sail the seas to begin with? And what happened to the White King?
The Black King and the White King were locked in a bitter war for control of the Fountain of Lamneth, believed to be the location of immortality. The Black and White nations destroyed each other in the process; neither side was able to claim Lamneth, and both kings died. The Black and White Queens took their possessions and servants and fled to distant corners of the world.
Each side had two crests: one of a knave, and one of a tiger. The war consequently became known as the Tiger War.
But things are not as they seem. After the war left two devastated nations in its wake, a rising young king made his move.
The Red King. Ruler of a small, neutral territory.
A disciplined lad who never resorted to elephant talk, the Red King seized the remains of both kingdoms, frame by frame. People who resisted him faced death by drowning; obviously, nobody resisted. Many of these survivors actually liked the Red King: he rallied both sides together under his rule and formed the Crimson Kingdom. The Red King also changed his name to...
King Crimson.
King Crimson found the Fountain of Lamneth and drank from it before sealing it off with his powerful magic. He is now the immortal – and since nobody else can access the Fountain and become immortal, he will be in power for eternity.
Five hundred years after these events, Rhydia has turned into a world power, though not quite rivaling the might of the Crimson Kingdom. Nevertheless, both nations are well aware of each other. And things are about to get hairy, especially when several young orphans - Collins, Rutherford, and Banks - get involved in a series of...unfortunate events.
